calligraphy + parades

liefday monday.
{calligraphy + parades}

feeling quite blessed this week. loved doing this calligraphed mat for a local church. calligraphy really is like painting. just love it. and the women I worked with at the church were so wonderful. thank you!

and looking forward to making products for the upcoming spring parade of homes! you should definitely check out the celadon development near knapps corner. it's really great -- they have combined homes, workspaces, shopping, and community into a really great development. if you're looking for a place to live, or just perusing new homes during the parade of homes, make sure you make a stop at celadon.

happy monday!

eggie eggs + bunnies

inspiration weekend.
{eggie eggs + bunnies}

it's easter tomorrow. hurray! and today it means eggs and bunnies. here are some of my favorites.

the first two eggs I found through selvedge drygoods. they have been handmade by Orike Muth, a sweet German design company. aren't these darling?

the following four eggs were hand-painted by Katya from Toronto. She has an etsy shop called ukrainianeastereggs. some are even goose eggs! so great.

and finally, some
bunny lovin. the first combines both eggs and bunnies because it's a felt bunny egg cozy! perfect. now all my hard - boiled eggs will stay pleasantly warm in the comforts of delicious felt. from
selvedge drygoods. how can you not smile when you look at that?

and my all time favorite, hut up felt bunnies. (another wonderful German company -- I know, I know, lief is dutch, but our eastern neighbors can be quite creative as well...) I have had this as my desktop image for years. I just love it. maybe it's time I buy some of these darling little bunnies.

happy easter! may you be inspired in many ways.

artPrize and pick-me-up pies

artprize is making Grand Rapids feel alive.
it's stimulating watching the artists set up their pieces. on my run yesterday I saw so many different people working hard to put the last touches on their pieces...looking forward to checking them all out!

here are some fun projects I have been working on as of late...

{pick-me-up pies business cards}

this image is of some business cards that I made for a really cool company called Pick-Me-Up Pies. Ruth Lingbeek has recently started a pie company and I was delighted to help her out! If you ever need some delicious pies made, she is definitely the one to go to -- her pies are incredible!!

sliced radishes

it's time to start a blog.

my hope behind this blog is to inspire.
I want to post ideas and images that I stumble upon that have made me stop, or at least slow down, and recognize the deeply beautiful. A visual journal of sorts.

so to start...sliced radishes.

I went to the market on Friday and somehow came home with radishes. I do love the spice that they bring, but aside from putting them in my salad I was a bit stumped with what to do with this lovely vegetable. so, when in doubt, bake! although they didn't turn out quite as I had hoped, I loved the way they decorated my parchment paper. I'm amazed by the vibrant colors that we can find naturally around us.
